The latest malware infections have many variants, but are mostly the same with names like:
Security Tool
Windows Recovery
Defence Centre
The most recent variants are "hiding" the users files from view. This presents as a blank desktop with no icons and in some cases, no task bar or start menu as well.

The latest virus attacks seem to be mostly Malware and Rogue Software attacks. Usually, this will take the form of an uninvited program emulating your anti virus engine and/or looking very Microsoft like as well. Some even have the Windows logo of four colours in a shield shape icon somewhere on the software window.
These attacks mostly want your credit card number, so DO NOT give this information freely.
If you feel that you have a Malware and or Rogue Software on your machine, please contact PCFIX Computer Solutions to have it removed ASAP.

Lately, a few clients of mine have been approached by telephone by people claiming to be from reputable companies like Microsoft and Logmein.
This scam relies on you giving your credit card details over the phone, so once again, DO NOT give this information freely.

Microsoft rumored to discontinue XP Operating System.
Microsoft is rumored to discontinue the XP operating system in 2014. This means, all people using the Microsoft Windows XP Professional or Home or Media Centre systems should be thinking about changing to Microsoft Windows 7 in order to be eligible for much needed windows updates in the months and years to come.
